In A Parley With Journalists To  Herald The 2016 LITF, The Chairman, Trade Promotion Board, Mr. Sola Oyetayo, Said The Theme Of The 2016 LITF ‘Positioning The Nigerian Economy For Diversification And Sustainable Growth” Was Carefully Chosen To Encourage Governments At All Level To Consider Diversification With Special Reference To Sustainable Growth.

According To Him, This Year’s Fair Which Will Hold From Friday November 4 To Sunday November 13 November, 2016, Marks The 30th Anniversary Since The LCCI Took Over The Organisation Of The Fair From The Federal Government. He Said The 30th Anniversary Will Also Feature Competitive Essay Writing By Secondary School Students Across Lagos State To Evaluate The Knowledge Of The Younger Generation And Deepen Their Understanding Of Trade Fairs.

He Said: “Our Economy Is Diversified To A Certain Level, We Need To Intensify This Vigorously And Inject Sufficient Dose Of Sustainability Into  Our Economic Management Strategies. Surely, This Is Urgently Required With A Political Will To Pull Nigeria Out Of The Current Predicament,” He Said.

He Noted That Nations Of The World Are Generally Experiencing Economic Turmoil, Particularly In The Wake Of Continuous Dropping Of  Crude Oil Price, Adding That, Nigeria’s Economy Has Been Worst Hit Largely Because Of The Lip Service Paid To Other Sectors Of The Economy While Depending Only On Oil For Earnings Over The Years.
